ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). S# 194258B. Bbl. 24" rnd. Sporting sights. Full length mag. Action has generous coverage of aftermarket vine type foliate scroll hand engraving with vignettes featuring a mountain goat on the right sideplate and a big horn ram on the left sideplate. Forearm and straight grip stock of nicely grained walnut with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate engraved to match the receiver. Stock has added Style H hand checkering. Mfg. in 1885. CONDITION: upgraded and restored rifle, bbl. and mag. tube retain over 90% reblued finish showing scattered dark spotting. Action and fittings retain 70% aftermarket nickel finish with areas of dark tarnish. Refinished wood. Butt section of stock has cloudy and blistering finish. Sound mechanics.
